What do you love most about being a nurse/healthcare worker?
I love how healthcare changes from shift to shift; you never know what to expect, and the patients always make it fun and worthwhile. It’s definitely one of the most rewarding professions out there.
What has been the highlight of your current contract?
The highlight of my current contract is my colleagues. They are so friendly, welcoming, and go above and beyond to help each other out. A busy shift is always more enjoyable when you’re surrounded by a supportive team, and Ballina Hospital excels at creating a sense of family and unity in the workplace.
How has your experience been with your SustainHealth consultant?
Angel has been my consultant since I joined SustainHealth almost three years ago. She’s amazing and always checks in on me to ensure my contract is going well! She makes communication easy, is supportive when I face any difficulties, and always ensures I have what I need to have a good experience in my contracts.
What is your top tip for other health professionals when choosing their next contract?
You went into healthcare for a reason, and agency nursing offers you the job of your dreams in the area of your dreams. When you start a new contract, make sure to use your days off to explore the area and discover new places. Always say yes to hanging out with your new colleagues because one thing agency nursing teaches you is that wherever you go, your healthcare colleagues are the best companions to create a home away from home with. So, don’t hold back on building new friendships and always say yes to new opportunities!
