What do you love most about being a nurse/healthcare worker?
I love being a RN and assisting patients during their health and recovery journey. It’s so fulfilling seeing my patients regain their independence and get back to their families and communities healthier and more informed about their health choices.
What has been the highlight of your current contract?
Working initially as a pool nurse I got to work in different specialties with a diverse and unique group of nurses all with awesome skills for their area of practice. I’ve also made some friends and attended my first rodeo event.
How has your experience been with your SustainHealth consultant?
My consultant, Ciara Ryan, was very helpful from the start until now, she’d answered my questions before I began the contract and put questions through to the hospital to clarify issues, I wasn’t clear about. She also supported me when I had challenges with my accommodation.
What is your top tip for other health professionals when choosing their next contract?
Before signing a contract clarify everything, do your research by speaking to your consultant and other nurses who’ve been to similar facilities. Even if you think you know the answer, things change from contract to contract and between facilities.
